Dr. Paula Marie Powe, MD is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her medical degree at Howard University in 2011, completed her psychiatry residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, and her child psychiatry fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, CT. Dr. Powe’s community-based participatory research focuses on the use of human centered design techniques and collaborative team science to develop interventions that improve the mental health outcomes of Black children by engaging Black fathers in early childhood home visiting programs.
