  • Postdoctoral Scholar

Mentors: Andrea Goldschmidt, PhD & Alison Hipwell, PhD

Dr. Nicolas Camacho graduated with his doctorate in Clinical Psychology in May 2026 from Duke University. Dr. Camacho's research interests focus on the emergence of various forms of psychopathology during childhood — depression, anxiety, and eating disorders — and improving existing methods for early detection. Under the mentorship of Drs. Andrea Goldschmidt and Alison Hipwell and in consultation with Dr. Colin Vize, he plans to study the co-development of disordered eating and broader socioemotional and behavioral problems across childhood and into adolescence. Dr. Camacho plans to use both epidemiological and ecological momentary data to address questions around early emerging transdiagnostic factors that place youth at elevated risk of developing eating disorders.
